Tropical cyclone Maila will remain well offshore from north Qld. A S’ly to SW’ly airstream behind a front should bring gusty winds & showers to Tas, Vic, SE SA & areas of NSW, while an unstable air mass may trigger a few storms over inland and north WA.

Tropical Cyclone Maila should move west over the northern Coral Sea while weakening. A high will ease winds in the east but maintain a few showers over the southeast. An unstable air mass maintains a few storms over inland and north WA.

Tropical Cyclone Maila is expected to weaken while approaching the Cape York Peninsula. An unstable air mass maintains storms over inland WA, while a cold front approaches the southeast. A high pressure ridge will send a few onshore showers to Vic and Tas.
