A trough over eastern Australia is causing showers and thunderstorms across western and southern NSW, inland Qld and northern Vic. A broad region of low pressure is triggering storms across the northern tropics. Onshore winds are bringing showers to eastern NSW and southeast Qld.

Wednesday 10:30 z
An inland low and trough over northern and eastern Australia will generate showers and thunderstorms, particularly for central and northern Qld. Onshore winds will bring showers to coastal parts of Qld, southeast SA, Tas and southern Vic. Fine elsewhere.

Thursday 10:30 z
An inland low and trough will continue to develop showers and thunderstorms from northern WA, about the Top End and much of central/west and northern Qld. Onshore winds will bring a few showers to coastal Qld and NSW. A few showers are possible for southern WA. Fine elsewhere.

Friday 10:30 z
Showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop over much of southern and western Qld and northeast NSW. Thunderstorms are also expected about the Top End and also for northern WA. Onshore winds will bring a few showers to the south coast of WA, NSW and southeast Qld.

Saturday 10:30 z
An inland trough will generate showers and thunderstorms across northern NSW and southern/western Qld. Afternoon storms are also expected about the Top End and northern WA. Much of the south and west will remain dry under a ridge of high pressure.

Sunday 10:30 z
An area of low pressure close to northern Australia will generate heavy showers and thunderstorms across northern WA, northern NT and north/northeastern Qld. A few afternoon storms are possible for southern Qld and eastern NSW. Mostly dry elsewhere.

Monday 10:30 z
Remaining unsettled across northern Australia with further heavy showers and thunderstorms expected. Onshore winds will bring showers and storms to the central and northern coasts of Qld. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible for northeast NSW/SE Qld.
