The monsoon and a tropical low should bring storms and heavy rainfall to the northern tropics, heaviest over the NT. Showers & storms should continue across SE AUS, western WA and W Qld in moist, unstable air. A low pressure system will bring showers & storms to Tas.

Saturday 19:30 z

Lower pressure troughs stretch from northern WA, through southeast WA, the NT and SA, and into western parts of Qld and NSW, triggering showers, patchy rain and thunderstorms, some intense. Clear over southwest WA, eastern Qld and northeast NSW with ridges of high pressure.

Sunday 10:30 z

A fast-moving low will bring rain, strong winds and storms to Vic, NSW and Tas, some severe. A tropical low will bring heavy rain and storms to the NT's eastern Top End with showers and storms elsewhere across the tropics. Hot for east Qld and northwest WA. Dry for southwest WA.

Monday 10:30 z

A fast moving low will retreat over the Tasman Sea while a cold front reaches Tas & Vic, bringing a few gusty showers. Monsoonal flow and a trough will bring thunderstorms and heavy rain to the tropics, heaviest in the NT and northwest Qld. Hot for east Qld, NSW and western WA.

Tuesday 10:30 z

Monsoonal moisture will fuel rain and thunderstorms across much of the tropics, aided over Qld by a stalled trough. A few showers and storms also for northeast NSW near this trough. Hotting up for southwest WA with E'ly winds around a ridge; cool, showery SW'lies for Vic and Tas.

Wednesday 10:30 z

Monsoonal moisture will continue to fuel rain and storms across the tropics. A surface trough will continue to trigger showers and storms over Qld and far northeast NSW. Cool and showery SW'ly winds for Tas and Vic near cold fronts while a high keeps SA dry and WA in hot E'lies.

Thursday 10:30 z

Showers, rain and storms continuing over the northern tropics with monsoonal type flow, and over Qld and far northeast NSW with a trough. A high will keep much of the south dry, sending cool to mild SW winds over Tas, Vic and NSW and hot E'ly winds over southwest WA.
