A strong high pressure ridge over the mainland is directing a few showers over southern SA, southern Vic, and western and southern Tas. Onshore winds are directing a few showers onto the far north Qld coast. A trough is beginning to trigger showers over WA's eastern interior.

Friday 09:30 z
A broad high will bring a cold morning to the nation’s south and interior, frosty in the east. A cold front clipping Tas will bring showers and brisk winds to southern SA, Tas and Vic. A trough developing over northern WA will bring showers to WA’s interior later in the day.

Saturday 09:30 z
A trough will bring showers to eastern WA, northern SA and the NT interior. A stubborn high will bring another cold morning to the Dividing Range and cause showers to scatter along the coasts of SA, Vic, Tas, NSW and eastern Qld. The high will maintain dry conditions elsewhere.

Sunday 09:30 z
A trough will bring showers to western and northern SA and the NT interior. A firm ridge of high pressure will bring another cold morning to the nation’s southeast, then a dry day to much of the country. Showers are likely to scatter along the east coast in moist easterly winds.

Monday 09:30 z
A strengthening trough may cause showers and patchy rain over eastern SA, western Qld and western NSW. A cold front should cross southern WA, bringing rain and strong winds later. A high pressure ridge centred over Tas should direct showery onshore winds over the east coast.

Tuesday 09:30 z
A trough and a front may bring showers and the odd storm to SA and western parts of Vic, Tas, NSW and Qld. High pressure building in the wake of a front could bring a cold morning to southwest WA. A high in the east may continue to send showery onshore winds over the east coast.

Wednesday 09:30 z
A trough may strengthen over SA, triggering showers and some thunderstorms over SA, western Vic and western NSW. A cold front may cross southern WA, bringing gusty winds, showers and the odd storm. A high in the east should send showery onshore winds over the east coast.
