A surface trough and associated low are bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to parts of northern Australia. Scattered thunderstorms under unstable winds across parts of northeast NSW and Qld. Clear skies in most of WA's south, SA's west and south, and Vic.

Wednesday 10:30 z

Low pressure will continue to bring rain and storms for the northern tropics, heaviest over the NT's northwest and the Kimberley. An approaching cold front will bring late showers to Tas. Onshore flow will bring showers and isolated storms to eastern Qld.

Thursday 10:30 z

Low pressure will bring heavy rain and storms to northern WA. Widely scattered showers and storms are expected in a moist, unstable air mass across the NT, Qld and northern NSW. A cold front will trigger a few showers over Tas.

Friday 10:30 z

Heavy rain and thunderstorms will be possible over parts of northern WA with a deep low possibly moving offshore. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the NT, Qld and northern NSW. A moist onshore flow will bring showers to western Tas.

Saturday 10:30 z

A deepening low near northern WA should bring heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms should develop elsewhere in the Tropics with an unstable air mass. Troughs should trigger showers & storms in northern SA, SW Qld and across NSW.

Sunday 10:30 z

Heavy rain, strong winds and storms should continue over northwest WA with a deep low. Moisture and instability should fuel more showers & storms across the rest of the Tropics. A surface trough should generate showers & storms for northern SA, SW Qld and NSW.

Monday 10:30 z

A deep low could remain near the coast of northern WA, possibly generating rain and storms. A moist onshore flow will bring showers and storms to eastern Qld. Troughs of low pressure may generate showers and thunderstorms across much of the interior and southeast.
