Troughs over northern WA, the NT, Qld and northeast NSW are triggering rain and thunderstorms, some intense. Westerly winds between fronts are bring gusty cooling showers to Tas. A ridge of high pressure keeps southern WA, SA, Vic and much of NSW dry.

Tuesday 10:30 z
Westerly winds behind a cold front will drive a few gusty showers through Tas and southern Vic. Monsoonal flow and a trough will bring thunderstorms and heavy rain to the tropics and southeast Qld. Hot and mostly dry for WA's west.

Wednesday 10:30 z
Monsoonal moisture will fuel rain and thunderstorms across the tropics, with showers and storms spreading to eastern Qld via a stalled trough. Dry and hot easterlies around a ridge for southern WA and showery southwesterlies in a cold front for Vic and Tas.

Monsoonal moisture will continue to fuel rain and storms across the tropics. A surface trough will continue to trigger showers and storms over Qld and northeast NSW. Cool and showery southwesterlies for Tas and Vic near cold fronts while a high keeps elsewhere dry.

Showers, rain and storms continuing over the northern tropics with monsoonal flow, and over Qld and far northeast NSW with a trough. A high will keep much of the south dry, sending cool to mild winds over Tas, Vic and NSW and hot E'ly winds over southwest WA.

Showers, heavy rain & storms continuing for the northern tropics with a possible low over the NT. Showers & storms also for Qld with a lingering, very slow-moving trough. A high will keep the south mostly dry, sending mild winds over Tas, Vic & NSW & hot E'lies over WA.

Monsoon flow over the NT and northern Qld and a possible low over the NT will continue to bring rain and storms. High pressure ridges will keep elsewhere mainly dry including southern Qld. Mild air will reach southwest WA behind a front passing to the south.
