Rain and storms are impacting WA's south and central interior in a deepening trough. Showers for Tas's west and south in brisk westerly winds. Patchy showers over coastal parts of NSW and eastern Qld in moist onshore winds. A high is keeping much of the country's remainder dry.

Monday 09:30 z

A strong ridge of high pressure will continue to send showery onshore winds over the coasts of western Tas, eastern Qld and northeast NSW, turning dry and gusty E’ly over inland Qld, the NT and eastern WA. A front will approach southwest WA, bringing gusty winds and rain later.

Tuesday 09:30 z

A cold front will bring gusty showers to WA’s south early then slide towards southeast Aus, bringing rain and gusty winds to southeast SA, Vic and Tas later. Rain may fall as snow over the Tas highlands. Showery onshore winds for eastern Qld and the NT’s eastern Top End.

Wednesday 09:30 z

A brisk westerly airstream between fronts will bring gusty showers and possible highland snow over Tas and eastern Vic, gusty winds over the NSW ranges, and a few showers over southern WA. A high pressure ridge may send showery onshore winds over coastal Qld and the northeast NT.

A moist westerly airstream in the wake of a cold front will bring gusty showers over southern SA, Vic, Tas and southern NSW, gusty winds over eastern NSW, and the odd shower for southern WA. Showery onshore winds for coastal far north Qld and the NT Top End.
