Moderate Flood Warning For Eyre Creek And Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Georgina River

MODERATE FLOODING TO CONTINUE AT GLENGYLE
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MARION DOWNS FROM WEDNESDAY
The flood peak along the Eyre Creek has passed through Glengyle, where moderate flooding is estimated to be continuing. Creek levels at Bedourie fell below the minor flood level during Friday.
River level rises have been observed along the upper Georgina River and Bourke River in response to rainfall over the last week, which may cause minor flooding at Marion Downs from Wednesday.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast in the catchment for the next few days, with isolated moderate to heavy rainfall possible, however this is not expected to have a significant impact on current river and creek levels.
Georgina River to Marion Downs:
River levels are elevated along the Georgina River to Marion Downs. Minor flooding is possible at Marion Downs.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs was at 1.45 m around 09:00am Saturday 14 February and falling, below the minor flood level (3.00m).
The Georgina River at Marion Downs may reach around the minor flood level (3.00 m) from Wednesday.
Eyre Creek:
Moderate flooding is continuing along Eyre Creek around Glengyle. Minor flooding is estimated to be continuing along King Creek at Cluny.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 3.43 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.50 m).
No current creek level observations are available for the Eyre Creek at Glengyle. The creek level is estimated to be above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) and steady.
The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) over the next few days.
