Minor Flood Warning For The Culgoa River

Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Culgoa River Issued at 02:20 PM AEDT on Wednesday 01 April 2026 Flood Warning Number: 7 MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BRENDA LATE THIS WEEK Flood peaks continue to move through the Culgoa and Birrie Rivers. Along the Culgoa River, the flood peak is approaching Brenda, where river levels may peak late this week. Along the Birrie River, river levels at Goodooga are expected to remain below the minor flood level and are approaching their peak. The Bokhara River at Goodooga peaked below the minor flood level on Tuesday evening. Along the Narran River, river levels at New Angledool No 2 have fallen below the minor flood level, following a moderate flood peak on Monday evening. Culgoa River: Minor flooding is possible along the Culgoa River. The Culgoa River at Brenda is currently at 4.44 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Culgoa River at Brenda may peak near the minor flood level (4.90 m) late this week. Birrie River: Flooding is no longer expected along the Birrie River. The Birrie River at Goodooga is currently at 2.86 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Birrie River at Goodooga is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.20 m). Bokhara River: Flooding is no longer expected along the Bokhara River. The Bokhara River at Goodooga peaked at 2.52 m around 09:45 pm Tuesday 31 March, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 2.49 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Bokhara River at Goodooga is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.70 m). Narran River: Flooding is no longer occurring along the Narran River. The Narran River at New Angledool No 2 peaked at 3.55 m around 10:00 pm Monday 30 March, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 2.52 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The Narran River at New Angledool No 2 is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.30 m). Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
