DAMAGING SURF AND DAMAGING WINDS FROM WEDNESDAY
Weather Situation
A low pressure system near New Caledonia is forecast to move southwards towards Lord Howe Island on Tuesday and Wednesday, before moving southeast away from the Island on Thursday.
DAMAGING WINDS with gusts to 100km/hr may impact the island from late Wednesday morning, before easing early Thursday morning.
DAMAGING SURF with waves exceeding 5 metres in the surf zone from late Wednesday morning, easing early Thursday morning.
- Stay indoors away from windows and keep children indoors.
- Stay at least 8 metres clear of any fallen power lines.
- Stay out of the water and stay well away from surf-exposed areas.
- Check your property regularly for erosion or inundation by sea water, and if necessary raise goods and electrical items
