Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the mid to high thirties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high teens across the ACT. Cooler conditions are expected to develop during Saturday with heatwave conditions forecast to peak during the end of the week then begin to ease over the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Canberra, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong and Woden Valley. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Friday 19 December 2025
