Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures currently in the low to high forties west of the ranges, in the low thirties to low forties on and east of the ranges, and in the high twenties over alpine areas. Maximum temperatures decreasing significantly over the south and west on Sunday, and throughout on Monday. Overnight minimum temperatures in the mid-twenties to low thirties west of the ranges, in the mid teens to low twenties over the south west as well as on and east of the ranges, and in the low teens over alpine areas. Overnight minimum temperatures decreasing significantly throughout on Monday morning. Severe to extreme heatwave conditions are currently peaking and are expected to ease from the south with the passage of a southerly change on Sunday and Monday. Locations likely to be impacted include Albury, Broken Hill, Bourke, Cobar, Dubbo, Goulburn, Orange, Tibooburra, Wagga Wagga and Yass.
