Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology New South Wales TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Surf for Lord Howe Island Issued at 04:09 PM LHST on Sunday 19 April 2026 DAMAGING SURF Weather Situation A low pressure system near New Zealand is pushing a large swell across the Tasman Sea and towards Lord Howe Island. Damaging surf conditions are possible today through to Monday. ## The NSW State Emergency Service advise you: Stay out of the water and stay well away from surf-exposed areas. Check your property regularly for erosion or inundation by sea water, and if necessary raise goods and electrical items.
