River levels remain elevated in the Daly River above Douglas River and in the Katherine Rivers but are generally easing. In the downstream reaches, river levels have peaked. The main flood peak has passed through Daly River Police Station. Further showers and storms are forecast over the next few days, which may cause small renewed river level rises. Daly River above Douglas River: River levels are elevated along the Daly River and tributaries upstream of the Douglas River, including at Dorisvale Crossing. Lower Daly River: Major flooding is occurring along the Daly River at Daly River Police Station, with elevated river levels upstream at Beeboom Crossing, Gourley and Mount Nancar. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station peaked at 14.26 m around 09:45 pm Wednesday evening, with major flooding. The river is currently at 14.22 m and slowly falling, with major flooding. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is likely to remain above the major flood level (14.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and Friday, and may remain above the moderate flood level over the weekend and into early next week.
