MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BESWICK BRIDGE LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON
Moderate to heavy rainfall associated with Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle was observed across the Waterhouse River and Roper River catchments over the weekend. Further showers and thunderstorms are possible over the next few days.
Moderate flood levels are rising at Beswick Bridge, where major flooding is likely late Monday afternoon.
The situation will be closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End including Waterhouse and Roper River catchments.
Waterhouse River:
Major flooding is likely along the Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge late Monday afternoon.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 8.36 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is likely to exceed the major flood level (8.36 m) late Monday afternoon. The river may reach around 8.80 m overnight Monday into Tuesday, with major flooding.
Roper River below Elsey Creek:
River levels remain elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
