Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Final Flood Warning For The Mcarthur River Issued at 10:44 AM ACST on Tuesday 30 December 2025 Flood Warning Number: 3 MINOR FLOODING IS NO LONGER EXPECTED AT BORROLOOLA Rainfall over the last week has led to river level rises across the McArthur River catchment. River levels have now peaked and are expected to remain below the minor flood level. McArthur River: Minor flooding is no longer expected along the McArthur River. The McArthur River at Borroloola peaked at 8.71 m around 12:15 am Tuesday 30 December, below the minor flood level and below the deck level of the bridge. The river is currently at 8.26 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The McArthur River at Borroloola is expected to remain below the minor flood level (9.00 m). Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.
