MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT STONEHENGE, JUNDAH AND ISISFORD FROM OVERNIGHT TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT CAMOOLA PARK AND RENEWED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT LONGREACH FROM WEDNESDAY
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT RETREAT AND WINDORAH FROM LATER THIS WEEK
Along the Thomson River the main flood peak is between Bogewong and Stonehenge. This peak may result in moderate flooding downstream at Stonehenge from overnight Tuesday into Wednesday and at Jundah overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Minor flooding is possible at Windorah later this week. Further upstream, another peak is around Muttaburra and minor flooding is occurring at Camoola Park. Minor flooding is possible at Longreach around Wednesday.
Along Jordan Creek and Alice River, flooding has eased at Jericho and renewed minor flooding is possible at Barcaldine overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further downstream along the Barcoo River, moderate flooding is possible at Isisford from Wednesday and minor flooding is possible at Retreat from the weekend.
Further areas of rainfall and showers are forecast over parts of the catchment over the next few days which may contribute to additional river level rises. The situation is being monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
Thomson River:
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring and further moderate flooding is possible along the Thomson River and its tributaries.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is currently at 2.80 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.00 m) for the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 2.74 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Longreach may reach around the minor flood level (3.30 m) during Wednesday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge is currently at 2.50 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge may reach around the moderate flood level (3.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
The Thomson River at Jundah is currently at 2.45 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Jundah is likely to exceed the minor flood level (2.50 m) Tuesday afternoon. The river may reach around the moderate flood level (4.00 m) from overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
Barcoo River to Isisford:
Minor flooding has eased along the Jordan Creek and is easing along the Alice River. Moderate flooding is occurring along the Barcoo River at Coolagh and is possible at Isisford.
No observations are currently available for the Jordan Creek at Jericho. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, flooding at Jericho is estimated to be eased below the minor flood level.
The Jordan Creek at Jericho is likely to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m).
No observations are currently available for the Alice River at Barcaldine. Based on nearby automatic gauges, it is likely that the river level is around the minor flood level and falling.
The Alice River at Barcaldine may exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
No observations are currently available for the Barcoo River at Isisford Post Office. The river level is expected to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m) and rising slowly.
The Barcoo River at Isisford Post Office may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Tuesday evening. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (5.00 m) from Wednesday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
Barcoo River downstream of Isisford:
Renewed minor flooding is possible from the weekend.
The Barcoo River at Retreat is currently at 1.14 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Barcoo River at Retreat may reach around the minor flood level (2.14 m) during the weekend. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
Cooper Creek:
Minor flooding is possible from later this week.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah is below the minor flood level and steady.
The Cooper Creek at Windorah may reach around the minor flood level (3.00 m) from around Friday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
