MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE AND GLENEAGLE
RENEWED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT HALIFAX FROM EARLY THURSDAY MORNING
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has resulted in river level rises across the Herbert River catchment. At Gleneagle the river level is estimated to have peaked with minor flooding around Tuesday evening, with minor flooding likely to continue over the next few days. At Abergowrie Bridge minor flooding is likely to continue over the next few days. Renewed minor flooding is possible at Halifax early Thursday morning with forecast rain.
Further rainfall is forecast over the coming days. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for adjoining catchments.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Herbert River at Gleneagle.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, river levels are estimated to have peaked with minor flooding around Tuesday evening.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) over the next few days. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring at Abergowrie Bridge and possible at Halifax.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 6.47 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) over the next few days. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
The Herbert River at Halifax peaked at 4.31 m around 03:30 pm Monday, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 3.11 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
Renewed minor flooding is possible along the Herbert River at Halifax. The river may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) early Thursday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
