Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations reissued to correct status text Moderate Flood Warning For The Georgina River And Minor Flood Warning For Eyre Creek Issued at 03:35 PM AEST on Wednesday 07 January 2026 Flood Warning Number: 11 MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MARION DOWNS FROM LATE THIS WEEKEND MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BEDOURIE AND GLENGYLE Recent rainfall has caused river level rises and minor to major flooding along the Georgina River to Marion Downs. At Marion Downs moderate flooding is possible from late this weekend. Minor flooding is occurring along the Eyre Creek at Bedourie and Glengyle. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. Georgina River to Marion Downs: Major flooding is occurring at Roxborough Downs and moderate flooding at Glenormiston. The Georgina River at Marion Downs is currently at 2.25 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Georgina River at Marion Downs may exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) over the next few days, with further rises to the moderate flood level (4.00 m) possible over the weekend into early next week. Eyre Creek: Minor flooding is occurring along Eyre Creek and further rises are possible as floodwaters from upstream arrive. The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 3.50 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.50 m) over the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. The Eyre Creek at Glengyle was at 2.40 m at 11:30 am Wednesday, with minor flooding. The Eyre Creek at Glengyle may remain around the minor flood level (2.00 m) over the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
