Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Daintree River And Flood Warning For The Mossman River Issued at 08:40 AM AEST on Saturday 21 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 6 MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT DAINTREE VILLAGE Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Daintree River catchment since Wednesday evening, resulting in river and creek level rises, with minor flooding occurring at Daintree Village since Friday morning. River levels are also elevated along the Mossman River at Mossman. Further rainfall is possible during the remainder of Saturday. Renewed rises and continued minor flooding are possible at Daintree Village overnight Saturday into Sunday. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required. A Flood Watch is current for the Cape York Peninsula and parts of the North Tropical Coast. Daintree River: Minor flooding is occurring along the Daintree River at Daintree Village. The Daintree River at Daintree Village is currently at 4.35 m and falling, with minor flooding. With forecast rainfall during Saturday, the Daintree River at Daintree Village may remain around the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. Mossman River: River levels are elevated along the Mossman River. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates.
