FLOODING IS EASING ALONG THE DIAMANTINA RIVER
Along the Diamantina River at Elderslie, minor flooding is occurring due to recent localised rainfall, but it is expected to ease in the coming days. Elsewhere along the Diamantina River, flooding has eased.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring at Birdsville.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 3.80 m and steady, below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
