Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Suttor River Issued at 01:29 PM AEST on Thursday 12 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 5 MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS FROM AROUND SATURDAY Recent moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of the Belyando and Suttor river catchments has caused river level rises in the upper catchment. Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from around Saturday as upstream flows arrive. Elevated river levels are occurring along the lower Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam, however river levels are expected to remain below the minor flood level. Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam: Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River. The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 1.52 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Suttor River at St Anns may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) from around Saturday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
