Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Moderate Flood Warning For The Suttor River Issued at 10:15 AM AEST on Tuesday 20 January 2026 Flood Warning Number: 17 MODERATE FLOODING MAY CONTINUE AT ST ANNS INTO WEDNESDAY Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed across parts of the Burdekin River catchment during the last week, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments. Moderate flooding may continue along the Suttor River at St Anns for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday. A chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment over the next few days. This rainfall is not expected to cause significant additional river level rises. Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam: Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns. The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 6.93 m and steady, with moderate flooding. The Suttor River at St Anns may remain above the moderate flood level (6.50 m) for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday as upstream flows arrive. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
