Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Final Flood Warning For The Diamantina River Issued at 12:24 PM AEST on Monday 04 May 2026 Flood Warning Number: 7 RIVER LEVELS HAVE FALLEN BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE SPRINGVALE-DIAMANTINA LAKES ROAD CAUSEWAY Minor flooding has eased along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. No significant rainfall is forecast for the catchment area this week. No further flooding is expected. Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes: Minor flood levels peaked at Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes during Friday and are now below the level of the Springvale-Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway (2.10 metres) and falling. River levels are expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.0 metres). Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates.
