MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MARION DOWNS FROM LATE THIS WEEK
Rainfall over the past week has caused river level rises and flooding along the upper Georgina River and its tributaries upstream of Marion Downs.
Further rainfall is possible for the next few days, which may cause renewed rises and higher river levels. The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
Georgina River to Marion Downs:
Minor flooding is possible along the Georgina River to Marion Downs.
The Georgina River at Marion Downs is currently at 2.35 m and relatively steady, below the minor flood level (3.00 m).
The Georgina River at Marion Downs may reach around the minor flood level during Friday 2 January.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
