As this peak travels downstream, moderate flooding may develop along Eyre Creek at Bedourie from early this week. Further downstream at Glengyle, moderate flooding is likely to develop around the end of this week. Georgina River to Marion Downs: Major flooding is occurring along the Georgina River at Marion Downs. The Georgina River at Marion Downs peaked at 5.40 m during Saturday morning, with major flooding. The river is currently at 5.30 m and steady, with major flooding. The Georgina River at Marion Downs is likely to remain above the major flood level (5.00 m) for the next few days. Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs: Elevated river levels are expected to be occurring along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs, with further rises expected for the next few days. Eyre Creek: Moderate flooding is possible along Eyre Creek. The Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 3.84 m and rising, with minor flooding (3.50 m). The Eyre Creek at Bedourie may exceed the moderate flood level (4.00 m) during Tuesday 20 January. The creek may peak above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) around Thursday 22 January. As of Sunday 09:00 am AEST, Eyre Creek at Glengyle was at 2.60 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding (2.00 m). The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (3.00 m) around the end of this week . Forecasts will be refined when upstream peaks are observed.
