River levels are elevated along the Gregory River following a minor flood peak at Gregory Downs during Monday. River levels are elevated along the Nicholson River at Doomadgee. Further downstream, river levels are expected to continue rising slowly over the next few days along the Albert River at Burketown as flows from the Gregory River arrive. The chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises. Nicholson and Gregory Rivers: River level rises are occurring along the Gregory River. Elevated river levels are expected to be occurring along the Nicholson and Gregory Rivers, and may occur over the next few days along the Albert River at Burketown. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
