Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the mid to high thirties, and overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions over far northern Queensland are expected to increase over the weekend before easing from early next week. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EST on Saturday 13 December 2025
