MINOR FLOODING PEAKING AT BIRDSVILLE
Minor flooding is easing at Durrie Station. Downstream, the main flood peak has passed Roseberth Station, and is around Birdsville where the river level is peaking just below the moderate flood level.
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Major flooding is easing at Roseberth Station. Minor flooding is occurring at Birdsville and easing at Durrie Station.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 5.80 m and steady around a peak just below the moderate flood level (6.00 m).
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) over the weekend.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
