River levels along the Albert River, including at Burketown Airstrip, Lower Nicholson and Gregory Rivers have now eased and no further flooding is expected. Forecast showers over the next few days are not expected to significantly affect river levels. A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country. Nicholson and Gregory Rivers: River levels have eased at many locations, however, flooding may still be continuing at some low lying areas. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
