Severe Weather Warning
for Heavy Rainfall
for Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and parts of West Coast and North West Pastoral districts.
Issued at 10:32 am Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
Isolated heavy rainfall is possible for parts of the Eyre Peninsula and nearby inland areas.
Weather Situation
A cold front, connected to a low that lies in the Great Australian Bight, is moving across South Australia. Showers and thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall are possible with this front.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and North West Pastoral
Isolated HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible for parts of the North West Pastoral, the West Coast, and the Eyre Peninsula until late this afternoon. Six-hour rainfall totals between 30 and 35 mm are possible, with localised falls up to 45 mm.
Locations which may be affected include Port Lincoln, Wudinna, Cleve, Elliston, Cummins and Tumby Bay.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water;
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains;
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 pm ACST Wednesday.
