Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Burrum River And Flood Warning For The Isis And Elliott Rivers Issued at 11:40 AM AEST on Sunday 25 October 2026 Flood Warning Number: 3 BURRUM RIVER MAY REMAIN AROUND MINOR FLOOD LEVEL AT HOWARD INTO MONDAY MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG ISIS AND ELLIOTT RIVERS Rainfall during Saturday resulted in minor flooding along the Burrum River at Howard, where a minor peak was observed Saturday evening. River levels are now around the minor flood level and may remain around that level for the remainder of Sunday and into Monday. Elevated river levels are also occurring across the Isis and Elliott catchments, with minor flooding occurring along the Isis River at Bruce Highway and along the Elliott River at Dr Mays Crossing. Further showers and storms are possible during the remainder of Sunday and into Monday, which may cause renewed rises. The situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required. Burrum and Cherwell Rivers: Minor flooding is occurring along the Burrum River at Howard. The Burrum River at Howard peaked at 6.21 m around 8:45 pm Saturday 24 October, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 6.06 m and steady, just above the minor flood level (6.00 m). The Burrum River at Howard may remain around the minor flood level (6.00 m) during the remainder of Sunday and into Monday. Renewed rises may be possible with further rainfall. Isis, Gregory and Elliott Rivers: Minor flooding is occurring along the Isis River at Bruce Highway and along the Elliott River at Dr Mays Crossing.
