Severe Weather Warning
for Damaging Winds
for parts of Adelaide Metropolitan and Mount Lofty Ranges districts.

Damaging winds continue this morning, temporarily easing during the afternoon and redeveloping in the evening
Weather Situation
Enhanced east to southeasterly winds in the lee of the Mount Lofty Ranges are possible today and into Thursday morning, as a high pressure ridge to the south and a trough in the north combine to increase the pressure gradient over the Adelaide Hills.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Adelaide Metropolitan and Mount Lofty Ranges
East to southeasterly locally DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts to around 90 km/h are possible over parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges and Adelaide Metro this morning. Winds are expected to temporarily ease during the afternoon before redeveloping in the early evening.
Winds are forecast to ease below warning threshold early Thursday morning.
Locations which may be affected include the western slopes of the Mount Lofty Ranges, the foothills, and eastern and southern suburbs of Adelaide.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 pm ACDT Wednesday.
