Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Meander River Issued at 11:44 AM AEST on Wednesday 01 July 2026 Flood Warning Number: 2 MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT STRATHBRIDGE AND POSSIBLE AT DELORAINE FROM LATE WEDNESDAY MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WESTWOOD BRIDGE FROM EARLY THURSDAY Since Tuesday morning, moderate rainfall totals have been observed across parts of the Meander River catchment which has resulted in river level rises. Further rainfall is forecast across the catchment for the remainder of the week. Minor flooding is likely at Strathbridge and possible at Deloraine from late Wednesday, and possible at Westwood Bridge from early Thursday. River levels may remain elevated around the minor flood level with renewed river level rises possible in response to forecast rainfall. Meander River - Deloraine to Strathbridge: Minor flooding possible along the Meander River at Deloraine. The Meander River at Deloraine Railway Bridge is currently at 1.81 m AHD and steady, below the minor flood level. The Meander River at Deloraine Railway Bridge may reach around the minor flood level (2.00 m AHD) from late Wednesday. Renewed river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall. Meander River below Strathbridge: Minor flooding likely along the Meander River at Strathbridge and possible at Westwood Bridge. The Meander River at Strathbridge is currently at 3.64 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Meander River at Strathbridge is likely to exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) from late Wednesday. The river may peak near 5.40 m overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with minor flooding. Renewed river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall. The Meander River at Westwood Bridge is currently at 1.97 m AHD and rising, below the minor flood level. The Meander River at Westwood Bridge may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m AHD) from early Thursday. Renewed river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
