Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 02:42 PM EDT on Friday 19 December 2025 Valid for Friday 19 December 2025 to Saturday 20 December 2025 Warning for the following areas: Mallee, Northern Country, North East, East Gippsland, West and South Gippsland, Central, North Central and South West Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the mid thirties up to the low forties about the northern districts. Overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high teens over northern and eastern districts, and in the low to mid teens about southern districts. Severe heatwave conditions will contract to the northeast and ease over the weekend as milder southeast to southwesterly winds extend across the State. Locations likely to be impacted include Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Echuca, Gisborne, Mildura, Maryborough, Ouyen, Shepparton, Seymour and Wangaratta. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Saturday 20 December 2025
