Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 01:36 PM WST on Thursday 18 December 2025 Valid for Thursday 18 December 2025 to Sunday 21 December 2025 Warning for the following areas: Pilbara and Eucla Cancellation for the following areas: South East Coastal, Goldfields, Great Southern and South Coastal Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Temperatures over northwestern WA will range from the mid thirties to mid forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high twenties. Although severe heatwave conditions have peaked over the Eucla after a cool change moved through Wednesday evening, heatwave effects will linger on Thursday before easing further on Friday. Severe heatwave conditions have eased over the South Coastal, Great Southern, Goldfields and the South East Coastal districts. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Friday 19 December 2025
