Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 01:10 PM WST on Saturday 13 December 2025 Valid for Saturday 13 December 2025 to Tuesday 16 December 2025 Warning for the following areas: Lower West, South West, South Coastal, South East Coastal and Great Southern Cancellation for the following areas: Gascoyne Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to intensify over the weekend and persist over southern WA into next week. Severe heatwave conditions have eased over the Gascoyne, however low intensity heatwave conditions may linger over the next few days. Locations likely to be impacted include the Perth Metropolitan Area, Gingin, Hopetoun, Katanning, Lake Grace, Mount Barker, Narrogin, Ravensthorpe and Yanchep. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Sunday 14 December 2025
