This flood water is approaching Warkon where moderate flooding is expected Thursday afternoon before a moderate flood peak arrives on Friday. Further downstream at Surat, moderate flooding is possible from overnight Friday into Saturday. Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed. Balonne River to Surat: Moderate flooding is expected along the Balonne River to Surat. The Balonne River at Warkon is currently at 7.87 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Balonne River at Warkon is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) Thursday afternoon. The river may reach around 8.30 m Friday afternoon, with moderate flooding. No observations are currently available for the Balonne River at Surat. Based on the nearby Surat TM gauge, river levels are estimated to be above the minor flood level (5.00 m) and rising. The Balonne River at Surat may reach around the moderate flood level (7.00 m) overnight Friday into Saturday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
