Minor flooding is possible at Birdsville over the weekend. Further areas of showers and rainfall are possible over parts of the catchment over the next few days which may see renewed river level rises in some areas. This warning will be updated as required. Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes: Minor flooding is occurring at Roseberth and is estimated to have eased at Monkira. River level rises are occurring along the lower Diamantina River downstream of Monkira. The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 3.60 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) over the weekend. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
