Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Kiewa River Issued at 10:30 AM AEST on Friday 05 June 2026 Flood Warning Number: 3 BANDIANA LIKELY TO PEAK AROUND THE MINOR FLOOD LEVEL OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY Moderate rainfall across the Kiewa River catchment since Monday has caused significant river level rises along the Kiewa River. The river level at Kiewa River Channel peaked early Friday morning and further downstream along the Kiewa River, levels are elevated and further rises are expected. Kiewa River downstream of Mongans Bridge: Minor flooding is likely along the Kiewa River at Bandiana. The Kiewa River Channel at Kiewa peaked at 3.10 m around 03:30 am Friday, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 3.09 m and falling slowly. The Kiewa River Channel at Kiewa is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.30 m). The Kiewa River at Bandiana is currently at 2.65 m and rising slowly, below the minor flood level. The Kiewa River at Bandiana is likely to peak around the minor flood level (2.80 m) overnight Friday into Saturday as flows arrive from upstream. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
