Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 01:34 PM WST on Wednesday 04 February 2026 Valid for Wednesday 04 February 2026 to Saturday 07 February 2026 Warning for the following areas: Gascoyne and Central West Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the mid to high forties inland, and in the mid thirties to low forties along the coast and further south. Overnight minimum temperatures in the low to high twenties. Severe to extreme heatwave conditions are expected to continue, extedning further south during the week and into the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Carnarvon and Coral Bay. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Thursday 05 February 2026
