A low will maintain flooding rain in Qld's north. Tropical Cyclone Hayley will cause wind, waves & rain to intensify in WA's far north as it approaches. The cyclone will combine with a high to send dry, gusty, warm winds across WA's west. A front will cool SA, Tas, Vic & SW NSW.

A low is generating flooding rain in Qld's north. Tropical Cyclone Hayley is causing wind, waves & rain to intensify in WA's far north as it approaches. The cyclone is combining with a high to send dry, gusty, warm winds across WA's west. A front is cooling SA, Tas, Vic & SW NSW.

Wednesday 10:30 z

A low will cause flooding rain in Qld's north. Tropical Cyclone Hayley will weaken as it crosses WA's far north but still cause heavy rain & strong winds. Hayley will combine with a high & maintain dry, gusty, winds in WA's west. A front will cool & help trigger storms in NSW.

Thursday 10:30 z

Showers & storms will scatter across the north & tend to areas of heavy rain & storms near the remnants of monsoon lows. Showers & storms will develop in Qld's south & about the NSW ranges in a trough. A high will keep much of Vic, Tas, SA & southern WA dry & WA's west hot.

Friday 10:30 z

Showers & storms will scatter across the north & tend to areas of heavy rain & storms near the remnants of monsoon lows. Storms, some intense, will occur in Qld's south & in NSW. A high will keep much of Vic, Tas, SA & southern WA dry & WA's western inland hot.

Saturday 10:30 z

Showers and storms persisting for the northern tropics with the monsoon and unstable low pressure areas, the latter extending into southern NT, southern QLD and parts of NSW, SA and Vic. Warm for NSW and Vic in N'ly winds. Hot for southern WA ahead of a cooler change.

Sunday 10:30 z

An unstable area of low pressure will shift east, bringing widespread rain and storm to the NT, Qld, NSW and possibly Vic. Wet season showers & storms persisting for the northern tropics. Dry and hot for much of WA but cooler in the southwest and for SA, Vic & Tas behind changes.
