Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology South Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Adelaide Region for Damaging Winds And Large Hailstones for parts of Onkaparinga, Yankalilla, Victor Harbor and Western Alexandrina council areas. Issued at 6:17 pm Sunday, 11 October 2026. A severe thunderstorm is approaching Port Willunga this evening. DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas: Onkaparinga, Yankalilla, Victor Harbor and Western Alexandrina The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:20 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones was detected near the Gulf waters off Port Willunga and the Gulf waters off Aldinga. This thunderstorm is moving towards the southeast. It is forecast to affect Mount Compass, Aldinga and Willunga by 6:50 pm and Goolwa, Port Elliot and Middleton by 7:20 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Move cars under cover or away from trees. * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby. A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and parts of the Mid North, Murraylands, North West Pastoral, Flinders and Upper South East districts.
