Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Initial Flood Warning For Tallangatta Creek Issued at 02:23 AM AEDT on Monday 23 February 2026 Flood Warning Number: 1 NEAR MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MCCALLUMS Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Mitta Mitta River catchment since Sunday afternoon. River and creek level rises are occurring across the catchment, with near minor flooding occurring along Tallangatta Creek at McCallums after briefly peaking above the minor flood level around midnight. Further showers are forecast into Monday which may cause further river and creek level rises. Tallangatta Creek: Near minor flooding is occurring along along Tallangatta Creek at McCallums. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
