Northern Tablelands, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Riverina and Lower Western
Safety Advice:
Extreme heatwaves can be dangerous for everyone.
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
In northern districts expect maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Heatwave conditions are expected to contract to the east over the coming week.
About the south and ranges maximum temperatures in the mid twenties to high thirties. Overnight minimum temperatures generally in the mid teens to low twenties. Temperatures continue to decrease over the weekend, with severe heatwave conditions expected ease early next week. Locations likely to be impacted include Sydney, Armidale, Batemans Bay, Dubbo, Goulburn, Moree, Nowra, Orange, Tamworth and Wollongong.
