Northern Rivers, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains and Central West Slopes and Plains
Cancellation for the following areas:
South West Slopes, Upper Western, Snowy Mountains, Riverina and Lower Western
Safety Advice:
Extreme heatwaves can be dangerous for everyone.
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
In northern districts expect maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Heatwave conditions are expected to contract to the east over the coming week.?
Severe heatwave conditions have eased about the south and the ranges. Generally maximum temperatures are in the mid to high twenties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low teens. Whilst over the ranges, maximum temperatures are in the mid teens with overnight minimum temperatures in the mid single digits. Locations likely to be impacted include Sydney, Armidale, Batemans Bay, Grafton, Gosford, Lismore, Moree, Nowra, Tamworth and Wollongong.
