Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Severe heatwave conditions continue over the Central Tablelands with maximum temperatures currently in the low to mid thirties, with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid teens. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to ease on Monday. Severe heatwave conditions have generally eased across the remainder parts of the state with temperatures in the high twenties to low thirties west of the ranges with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid teens. Along the coast maximum temperatures in the low to mid twenties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid teens. Locations likely to be impacted include Bathurst and Mudgee. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Monday 02 February 2026
