At Tumut, an initial peak below the minor flood level is expected to arrive late Thursday morning. However, renewed rises to the minor flood level are possible during Friday with forecast rainfall. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required. At this stage, river levels along the Murrumbidgee River are expected to remain below minor flood levels at Gundagai and downstream. Tumut River: Minor flooding is possible along the Tumut River. The Tumut River at Tumut is currently at 1.28 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Tumut River at Tumut may reach around the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Friday with forecast rainfall. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
