Issued at 7:25 am Monday, 9 February 2026. Severe thunderstorms that produced heavy rainfall over the Simpson earlier Monday morning have now eased. Isolated thunderstorms are continuing across the Northern Territory at time of cancellation. Further severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall remain possible for southern parts of the Northern Territory today. 61 mm of rainfall was recorded at Upper Bond Springs in the 3 hours to 5:33 am. The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should: * avoid driving into water of unknown depth and current * stay away from fallen power lines.
