The river level is easing slowly and is likely to fall below the major flood level on Sunday based on the current rate of fall. The river level is likely to continue falling during next week, however the arrival of floodwater from the Katherine River is likely to prolong the recession and may cause small renewed river level rises. Showers and thunderstorms are possible across parts of the Daly River catchment over the next few days but are not expected to worsen the current flood situation. A minor flood warning is current for the Katherine River. Daly River above Douglas River: River levels are elevated along the Daly River downstream of Dorisvale Crossing, with river level rises likely upstream as floodwater from the Katherine River arrives. Lower Daly River: Prolonged major flooding is easing slowly along the Daly River. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 14.34 m and falling slowly, with major flooding. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is likely to fall below the major flood level (14.00 m) during Sunday and is likely to continue falling slowly next week, although small renewed rises remain possible with the arrival of floodwater from the Katherine River.
